Samah. Unveiled: The Wind Beneath the Veil bv Samah Jebbari is a compelling memoir that
unravels dramatically inside a northbound car on Autoroute 13 in Montreal, Canada. Inside the
vehicle are Samah and her three children. Forty-two years ago, Samah was born in Kasserine
Tunisia. Her father strictly required her to wear the veil at seven years old and walk behind him in public. Raised as a good Muslim daughter, she follows the familv’s religion, although
she longs for the freedom to wear what she wants in public. Her father is a trade unionist
known for his activism. and Saman seeks political asvlum in Canada. Unhaooiv married to the
abusive Assi, she lives within the confines their culture and religion impose on her. Will she
be able to break the chains and find freedom in life?
Beautiful v written and a must-read book for women. Saman Jebbaris Saman. Unvelled: The
Wind Beneath the Veil is also an eve-opener. For manv Muslim women. veiling is not a matter
of choice, and lifting the veil has become a metaphor for freedom. Hence, the decision not to
wear a veil is a highly private, emotional, and religious choice. In this narrative, readers get to
know the intimate struggles of a Muslim woman in her decision to break from the chains or
her culture and religion. Samah Jebbari shares her life storv and innermost thoughts and
desires in beautiful prose. For many of us who take for granted the freedom we enjoy daily
her struggles are at times unbelievable. I highly recommend this memoir

An iron Will

Hello Dear author ..
I have finished your book “ Le Vent Dans Le Voile” a while ago , but I was reluctant to share with you my final thoughts on it right after reading the last page . I simply wanted to allow myself the time to reflect and meditate on its content before I write a word about it . To me, words matter a great deal but the reflective process that precedes them matters even more . That being said , I will add that the book is powerful and courageous in spirit .
The prose is fluid and rich in brilliant expressive energy . The flow of the narration holds an illuminating wisdom . I will not get into the details of the context neither the circumstances that have inspired you to write this story , your story . I will not get into the realm of tears , pains , oppression , sorrows that you have had to face and bravely confront . I will not get into the details of the insurmountable obstacles that have drowned the road of your life and that you have
transcended with an iron will , finally emerging triumphant on the other shore with full strength and determination . I will not comment on all these circumstances because what really matters at the core of every great story related to the human condition is our capacity of asserting our “own will” . Beyond anything else , your story is a story of “ freedom” . As Jean- Paul Sartre once cited : “ Existence Precedes Essence “ . This ultimately means the by “ existing” , we are pr-empowered to shape our future , craft our destiny and create our essence of life through the exercise of free will .
This journey takes courage , it takes persistence and it takes a clear vision to confront “who we are” before taking the brave step to construct “who we want to be” . It is a painful road to travel through , but certainly the only journey that is “ worth” traveling . You have certainly demonstrated all these noble traits and therefore succeeded in crafting a very inspiring story for the many generations to come . I do not have the habit of sprinkling my praise on any book I read very easily . But I can assure you that your book has touched both my mind and soul very deeply
while very few books have previously done so . I am looking forward to reading many of your future
literary works and I wish you all success and prosperity in every aspect of your free life .
Sincerely
Anis Ben Ammar

TOUCHING :Read this book in one evening. I could not put it down until I finished it. Great read.
